DESCRIPTION OF CERAMIC ABRASIVE BLASTING MEDIA
Ceramic abrasive blasting media is a spherical sandblasting micro
beads, with smooth surface, good elasticity, and high hardness, it
is produced by electro-fusion process with dense crystal structure.
Ceramic abrasive blasting media is often used for :
- Deburring
- Decontamination
- Pre-coating treatment
During the sandblasting process, the sand grains rebound from
multiple angles, which is very suitable for workpieces with complex
structures.
The size B30 usually used for glass bottles molds blast cleaning.

FEATURES OF CERAMIC ABRASIVE BLASTING MEDIA
(1) Spherical, with smooth surface, high hardness, long life and
good elasticity.
Compared with glass BEADS, the effect of finish is higher, and the
service life is increased by about 20 times.
During the sandblasting process, the sand grains rebound from
multiple angles, which is very suitable for workpieces with complex
structures. At the same time, it can eliminate stress and improve
the life of the workpiece.
(2) Can be recycled multitimes.
It will reducing the number of material changes and improving
production efficiency.
(3)Not easy to break, no dust, no metal pollution, clean and
environmentally friendly.
There is no hidden danger of pneumoconiosis and no harm to the
health of employees.
Compared with steel shot, no metal dust remains on the surface of
the workpiece, no color cast, and the original color of the metal
is restored.
(4) The density is between glass beads and steel shot. In the range of sandblasting strength, it can properly fill the
upper and lower blind areas of the impact strength of glass sand
and steel sand.
(5) More suitable for sandblasting and forming of titanium alloy,
aluminum alloy and other metals because of its quality moderate, but the hardness is high.
(6) Ceramic sand is not deformed and wears low in the process of
recycling, which can ensure the consistency of the surface sandblasting
effect during mass production.
APPLICATION
B30, B40 Usually used for glass bottles molds cleaning,
It has below advantages comparing with stainless steel shot.
The service life mainly depends on the mechanical strength and
elastic modulus of the medium. The ceramic beads (hardness 60HRC,
elastic modulus 330 GPa) is much higher than stainless steel shot
(hardness 45HRC, elastic modulus 200GPa). The projectile can reach
2,600 cycles, and the service life is better than that of stainless
steel shot.
- Less mold loss (good surface quality, high production efficiency)
After the use of ceramic beads instead of stainless steel shot, the
surface quality of the workpiece is significantly improved, the
defects are reduced, the roughness is very low, and very ideal
results are obtained.
A large number of domestic and foreign use results show that using
ceramic beads instead of stainless steel shot to clean glass bottle
molds can reduce mold loss by 20%, thereby greatly improving mold
utilization, reducing mold expenses, and thus reducing costs; in
addition, it can also reduce mold maintenance. And the number of
replacements, time, improve production efficiency and reduce
production costs.
- Save energy and improve energy efficiency
Since the density of the ceramic beads 3.85g/cm3 is only half of
that of the stainless steel shot 7.6g/cm3, only half the current
intensity of the stainless steel shot, it can achieve the same
blasting speed and reduce the energy consumption by half.
