Difference between ceramic shot and cast steel shot
1). Compared with cast steel shot peening, residual stress
distributions induced by ceramic shot can be obtained in wider
variation range.
2). The plastic deformation layer depths induced by ceramic shots
are much lighter than thatof cast steel shot peening.
3). All the surface topographies induced by ceramic shots are much
delicate/smooth that those of ceramic shots.
In the work of Ti1023 alloy shot peen, the ceramic shot with a
diameter of 1.08mm and peening intensity of 0.18 mm A is the
optimal shot-peening condition.
